One thing I have been notorious for with my public writing was publishing independently; the reason is relatively simple. I did not want to put my name on something and not have a direct say in how and what is composed or be forced to manipulate my views or work in a way that would satisfy people’s particular tastes
But that changes now.
I am pleased to announce my onboarding as Blog Assistant for American Literary Magazine, American University’s student-run literary magazine since 1965. As a Blog Assistant, I am responsible for helping curate published blog posts to the website, alongside contributing to the blog in a staff position.
One thing that I’m especially excited about is being able to see behind the scenes of a publication that, well, actually publishes. I hope to apply the practice and experience that I learn here and use it in other places in future roles and beyond.
Now, away I go!
